Katoh Guitars is proud to introduce our J. Godoy Series
We are delighted to announce that we have upgraded materials and improved craftsmanship and the finish of our Professional Series (Hauser, Munich, Madrid, Torres 1889, Torres 1859 and DF69) and reintroduced them as our J Godoy Series.
- Materials:
Select European tops and tonewoods used in the construction of J. Godoy guitars are stored in our environmentally controlled warehouse where temperature and humidity are strictly regulated. - Craftsmanship
Our J. Godoy guitars are manufactured by Martinez’ most highly trained and experienced luthiers, in workshop dedicated to the manufacture of professional instruments. Each instrument is carefully quality controlled by our QC and research team. Great attention is paid to the soundboard and bracing to ensure that every nuance is addressed. The neck is precisely fitted guaranteeing perfect unison with the body and ensuring optimal tone and playability. Every instrument is a work of art. - Finish
French Polish is a labour-intensive process rather than a material. It involves the use of shellac with denatured alcohol. The method has been used on fine instruments since the nineteenth century. It became less popular with spray painting and mass production in the 1930’s but in guitar manufacture, nothing matches the tone nor subtle lustre and chatoyancy that this ultra-thin finish produces. French Polish, unlike many modern finishes also affords easier repair and refinishing should an instrument become damaged.
